Young Preschool

Our Young Preschool classroom serves ages 30 months to 42 months, with a staff child ratio of 1:6. We provide children with Creative Curriculum, a weekly theme, and from September through May, a weekly letter and number. We have small group activities where children are grouped based on developmental abilities to provide the best learning advantage. Children are provided with daily indoor and outdoor gross motor activities. Many field trips are taken throughout the year as well. We travel to places such as the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium, the pumpkin patch, the Pittsburgh Children's Museum, Natural History Museum, and many more. Teachers provide lesson plans, monthly newsletters and calendars outlining special events in both the classroom and center. Throughout the summer months, we provide the children with fun summer themed activities.

• Children are taken outside daily, weather permitting
• Preschool Program runs from 9am to 12pm

• Creative Curriculum focusing on encouraging learning play based on themes weekly
• Developmentally appropriate individual and group activities, which includes motor skill development, dramatic and creative free play, math and language development, computer technology, art, music, literature and science
• Focus is placed on communication skills and problem solving techniques
• Field trips taken throughout the year to accompany learning experience
