Our Young Preschool classroom serves ages 30 months to 42 months, with a staff child ratio of 1:6. We provide children with a High Scope Curriculum, a weekly theme, and from September through May, a weekly letter and number. We have small group activities where children are grouped based on developmental abilities to provide the best learning advantage. Children are provided with daily indoor and outdoor gross motor activities. Many field trips are taken throughout the year as well. We travel to places such as the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium, the pumpkin patch, the Pittsburgh Children's Museum, Natural History Museum, and many more. Teachers provide lesson plans, monthly newsletters and calendars outlining special events in both the classroom and center. Throughout the summer months, we provide the children with fun summer themed activities.
No mother ever wants to leave her kids everyday but since I have to, I am so glad that I have Today’s Learning Childcare. It is a place that my daughter absolutely loves to go to every day. The staff is amazing — they are able to be educational while still being supportive and caring. My daughter runs to give several of them hugs in the mornings when she gets there and hugs in the afternoon when we are leaving. The director is organized and approachable and sets the positive tone that the entire place has. The center itself is always clean and well maintained. The best thing is that I am able to concentrate on my work during the day because I know that my daughter is being cared for so well and I know she is happy and having fun. I would recommend Today’s Learning Childcare to anyone!~ Amy Yeargers (Parent of our Preschool Room)
